Excise constable arrested for taking bribe of Rs. One lac

Karachi (HRNW) Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh Sukkur Zone has registered a case by Circle Officer Ghotki Ijaz Hussain Memon under the supervision of First Judicial Magistrate Wajid Ali Dayo and arrested Excise Constable Abdul Hameed for taking bribe of Rs 100,000.
According to details, Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh Sukkur Zone had received a complaint that Excise Constables Abdul Hameed and Manzoor Ahmed Kalhwar had demanded a bribe of Rs. 12,000,00 for providing job in Irrigation Department Government of Sindh. They asked for another Rs 100,000 for medical fitness. Upon receiving the complaint, the anti-corruption team took action and arrested red-handed Excise Constable Abdul Hameed for accepting a bribe of Rs 100,000. A case has been registered and an investigation has been launched.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Industries & Commerce and Anti-Corruption and Co-op Department Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, in a statement, has urged the people not to be fooled by anyone to get government jobs. Government jobs will be given on merit and in this regard the bribe seekers should be immediately reported to the Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh so that strict action can be taken against such corrupt elements. He further said that complete eradication of such corruption was possible only with the cooperation of the people and hoped that the conscious people of Sindh would cooperate with the institutions to eradicate corruption in the province.
