Saman Rai accompanied by a 15-member delegation visited festival of LOK Mela at Lok Virsa Complex

Lahore (HRNW)- The Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Saman Rai accompanied by a 15-member delegation visited festival of LOK Mela at Lok Virsa Complex, Garden Avenue, Shakarparian, Islamabad. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Executive Director LOK VirsaTalha Ali.

One of the most attractive features of the Mela was the provincial cultural pavilions from all provinces, GB, AJK including an international pavilion. Other interesting features were different artisans at work belonging to the all provinces, folk singing and dance performances, craft bazaar and food courts etc.

Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Saman Rai during the meeting with, said that the fragrance of our land is a great gift of nature as literary and cultural institutions across Pakistan, including Alhamra Arts Council, have spread their wings to spread to all corners of the world. Rai further said that, we are culturally have a unique and distinct identity in the world of literature, arts, science, philosophy, research, history and culture because many of our generations have contributed to the betterment of our beloved country.

Rai said that the beauty of folk entertainers and rural musicians which are invited from all over the country to contribute in the festival is a beautiful step to enhance the cultural harmony. Rai expressed these view during the meeting with DG Culture Abdul Aleem Lashari, Secretary Culture Sindh Akbar Laghari, DGP NCA Dr. Fauzia Saeed, and Executive Director Lok Virsa Talha Ali. The efforts of LOK VIRSA will prove to be important in highlighting the national identity. All literary and cultural institutions including Alhamra are rendering important services, she added.

The team of Alhamra was also been at Sindhi musical night in which eminent folk artists and folk performers spell out the audience by their outstanding performances which got huge applause by the audience.

Information Officer LAC Samreen Bukhari said that one of the best parts of the festival was the craft bazaar with score of attractively decorated pavilions offering, antiques, craft items, variety of souvenirs gems & jewellery, and other cultural items.

Deputy Director Admin Aftab Ahmad Ansari, Deputy Director Muhammad Arif, Assistant Director admin Khurram Naveel and other officers were also present at the event.
