Hertha Berlin without trio for Bielefeld trip

Hertha Berlin will be without captain Dedryck Boyata, Mathew Leckie and Javairo Dilrosun when they visit Arminia Bielefeld in their first away game of 2021, the Bundesliga club said Friday.

Defender Boyata misses Sunday’s match with a foot problem, Australian winger Leckie has a stomach issue and attacker Dilrosun has a knee injury.

Midtable Hertha want to build on last week’s 3-0 home victory over bottom club Schalke against another relegation struggler.

“We definitely want to finally win two games in a row,” coach Bruno Labbadia said Friday, with his team yet to achieve such a ‘streak’ this season.

Hertha are above the worst of the relegation battle in 12th with 16 points but Bielefeld, in the play-off place on 10 points, could pull the capital side back towards trouble with victory.
