Rescue staff to be provided timely promotion, DG Rescue Punjab Rizwan Naseer

LAHORE (HRNW) The Director-General Punjab Emergency Service Dr Rizwan Naseer formally inaugurated the first Shift Incharges (SIs) Promotion Course at Emergency Services Academy (ESA) to enhance the professional capacity, growth and development of middle managers. He said that the role of middle managers is highly important as they are directly contacted by emergency staff. The professional grooming of middle managers, their understanding of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the field rescue operations, managerial and leadership skills are highly essential to ensure the uniform standard of the Service.

He shared these views while addressing the opening ceremony of the first Shift Incharges Promotion Course held at Managers Training Center of Emergency Services Academy here on Monday. Registrar Academy, Dr Muhammad Farhan Khalid & DD (HR) Dr Foaad Shahzad Mirza, a team of instructors from the Emergency Services Academy attended the ceremony.

While speaking at the ceremony, DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer congratulated all rescuers passing over Punjab Emergency Services (Amendment) Bill 2021. It had passed due to the services rendered by the rescuers across Punjab. Now, Rescue Staff would be provided with timely promotion and this promotion course has been organized in that context for capacity building of the middle managers. He directed the course participants to learn as much as possible, exhibit their professional skills during training and maintained their physical fitness exercises as there is no compromise on physical fitness. A physically fit manager can be a role model for his staff and can do quickly and right decision in case of emergency and disaster, he said.

Earlier Dr Farhan Khalid Registrar Emergency Services Academy welcomed DG Rescue Punjab and all participants of the course. He thanked DG Rescue for his untiring efforts for unanimously passed Emergency Services Amendments Bill and providing a long-awaited Service Structure to the rescuers. He briefed that in the first batch 24 SIs from all districts of Punjab has been selected for the first SIs Promotion Course. The course participants would be trained during 12-week training on general management, operations command, filed exercises, behavioural change and leadership skills. He also highlighted that physical fitness is an integral part of all training. The registrar said that the course would be ended in the first week of June 2021. ###
