Case against CTD for illegal detention of youth

KARACHI: (HRNW) District and Sessions Judge West Abdul Naeem Memon has ordered to file a case against SHO CTD and his entire team for illegal detention and torturing of a youth.

Mrs Tahira Nazir, in her constitutional petition through International Lawyers Form (ILF) Chairman Nasir Ahmed Advocate, had stated that her son Talat Nazir was abducted by CTD personnel on April 11 and was first taken to Civil Lines Police Station.

He was later shifted to Shahid Hayat Police Training College, Saeedabad. CTD personnel demanded a large ransom from the family of the abductee for the release of Talat Nazir. Upon refusal, the CTD SHO and his accomplice Dilawar imprisoned the abductee in an iron cage in the underground CTD’s private torture cell at Barrack No. 4, Baldia Police Training Center College.
On April 17, on the orders of District Judge West, Judicial Magistrate No. 13 Sajid Ali Chang along with ILF lawyers raided the Baldia Police Training College and rescued Talat Nazir in an iron cage.
District and Sessions Judge West Abdul Naeem Memon on the report of the said Judicial Magistrate directed the IG Sindh to immediately register a case against the CTD SHO and his kidnapping team and take departmental action against all the accused involved.
