SBCA: Plan to evacuate dangerous buildings ready

KARACHI: (HRNW) The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has formulated a strategy to evacuate dangerous buildings in Karachi. In the first phase, action will be taken against damaged buildings in the southern district.

Sindh Building Control Authority plans to evacuate damaged buildings. Strict action will be taken against SBCA officers who do not implement the decision.

Residents of dilapidated buildings refuse to vacate. They say they should be given an alternative accommodation.

There are currently more than 400 dangerous buildings in Karachi that could lead to a major accident at any time.
