Order to end encroachments on government land in Karachi

Karachi (HRNW) The Supreme Court of Pakistan, while hearing a case related to computerization of Sindh land records, ordered removal of encroachments on government land in Karachi, while a senior member sought a report from the Board of Revenue within three months.

A case related to computerization of Sindh land records was heard in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry.

The court ordered that if the land records were not computerized, action would be taken against the senior member of the Board of Revenue and the concerned officers.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed also expressed frustration over encroachments on government lands in Karachi and non-completion of survey.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan remarked that the entire revenue department is making billions of rupees, one entry is made in the name of many people, the revenue department is the most corrupt institution, there has been no improvement, KMC and KDA Has no master plan.

The court sought a report from a senior member of the Board of Revenue within three months.
