Hummels and Guendogan back in Germany training, Mueller not

Mats Hummels and Ilkay Guendogan returned to Germany team training while absent Thomas Mueller remains doubtful on the eve of Wednesday’s final Euro 2020 group match against Hungary.

Hummels, Guendogan and Mueller had missed Monday training, and Mueller continued to train on his own Tuesday at the team camp in Herzogenaurach owing to a knee problem.

Coach Joachim Loew is not expected to take any risks with Mueller in the match Germany can most likely not afford to lose if they want to reach the last 16.

That even more as Mueller’s Bayern Munich team-mate Leon Goretzka is fully fit again and can take his place.

Borussia Dortmund defender Hummels should be able to play after complaining about a knee problem, and Manchester City’s Ilkay Guendogan is back from a hurt calf.
