Jamaat-e-Islami announces protest against inflation and unemployment

Lahore (HRNW) Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq, while rejecting the federal budget, announced a nationwide protest on July 4 against inflation and unemployment.

After the three-day meeting of the Central Majlis-e-Shura in Mansura, Lahore, Siraj-ul-Haq said that the country’s economy was on a ventilator and its assets were being mortgaged under the pressure of the IMF. Those claiming to form the state of Madinah have set aside 36% interest in the budget.

Jamaat-e-Islami has sent a draft on electoral reforms to political parties, the details of which will be made public on June 30.

Siraj-ul-Haq said that the job of the establishment is not to form and overthrow governments but to perform its duties within its jurisdiction.

Amir Jamaat-e-Islami clarified that the problem of the people is not parliamentary or presidential system but inflation and unemployment. Unemployment march will be held in Islamabad on July 2.
