Monsoon entered in Karachi, drains could not be cleaned

KARACHI: (HRNW) A series of monsoon rains has started in Karachi but the drains could not be cleaned. More than 500 small and big drains of the city including Gujjar drain are still full of garbage while Sindh government is claiming that the drains are clean.
Hundreds of small and large drains, including the Gujar drain, have not been completely cleaned. A few days ago, Murtaza Wahab had claimed that all the drains of the city would be cleaned. Machines were installed to clean the drains before the rains, but the drains are full of mud.
Citizens fear that the situation will be the same as last year due to non-cleaning of drains. The people demand that the drains be cleaned in time so that they can avoid any untoward situation.
