Abdul Qayum Niazi is the new PM of Azad Kashmir

Islamabad (HRNW) Abdul Qayum Niazi has been declared the new prime minister of Azad Kashmir, Fawad Chaudhry, the federal minister, has tweeted.

He said after a long consultation and review of suggestions, Prime Minister Imran Khan selected Abdul Qayyum Niazi.

He is a dynamic and genuine political activist with a heart for activists, he said.

Mr.Niazi was elected 13th Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir with 33 votes. He defeated Mutehda Opposition party member Latif Chaudhry.

He was born in Dara Sher Khan in 1969. He joined PTI after leaving Muslim Conference two years back. He won the election in 2021 from Yasin Gulshan of Muslim League from constituency LA-18 Poonch-1. He was also a member of the district council twice.

PTI’s Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry and Sardar Tanveer was nominated for the post.
