UK PM Boris Johnson holds Afghanistan crisis talks, recalls parliament

LONDON (HRNW) – Media reports in the United Kingdom on Sunday stated that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be attempting to recall the parliament next week to discuss the developing crisis in Afghanistan.

Members of Parliament (MP), who are currently on summer break, are likely to be called back for an urgent debate on what Britain should do next, 10 Downing Street sources told Sky News and the Press Association.

Britain has lost a total of 457 troops in the two-decade-long war.

On Sunday, the Taliban fighters were on the outskirts of Kabul and on the brink of a complete military takeover of Afghanistan, leading British politicians to call for a last-ditch intervention.
