Electricity being restored in Karachi after NTDC restores supply to K-Electric

Karachi (HRNW) Power was being restored in Karachi after the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) restored the supply to the city’s electricity provider K-Electric.

The latest update shared on KE’s Twitter page said that power was restored in 68 grid stations, adding that its teams were on high alert to power up the metropolis.

The areas where electricity has been restored includes Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Federal B Area, North Karachi, Surjani, Malir, Baldia, Laiquatabad, Korangi, North Nazimabad, Gizri and DHA.

The tweets about areas being restored came after the Energy Ministryy confirmed that the NTDC had restored the “total supply” to KE.

At around 4:30pm, the utility provider had tweeted that they have been receiving reports regarding power outage in different areas of Karachi.

A few minutes later KE shared that the metropolis was experiencing a power outage due to tripping that occurred in the additional high transmission line. It added that the tripping had occurred after communications between the national grid and KE were disrupted due to the power outage in the Jamshoro circuit.
