Karachi (HRNW) The Supreme Court Karachi Registry ordered the Karachi administration to remove illegal constructions along the PECHS drain.
The apex court, while hearing a case relating to removal of encroachments around PECHS drain, ordered that 20 feet space be vacated on both sides of PECHS drain.
The Supreme Court ordered immediate removal of illegal structures on the PECHS drain.
KMC’s lawyer told the court that shops have been set up along the PECHS drain, which is causing difficulties in cleaning the drain.
The Supreme Court asked how the shops were built around the drain.
The PECHS lawyer said that no illegal constructions were done by us.
The court told the PECHS lawyer that if you have not done illegal constructions, then it is clear that leasing over the drain is not the authority of the PECHS.
