Benazir Bhutto Anniversary: Bilawal, Bakhtawar reminisce about their mother

Karachi (HRNW) Pakistan People Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday arrived in Larkana to attend the death anniversary commemoration of his mother and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

He will address the event on Monday, December 27.

Thousands of PPP activists were heading to Larkana on Sunday. Many were already at the Bhutto family mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bux and posting their picture to social media.

Bilawal Zardari in a tweet said, “Remember, remember, the 27th of December.” He then added a broken heart emoji and hashtage #salaambenazir.

Replying to his tweet, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari said she missed her mother more now when she herself had become a mother. “She [Benazir Bhutto] would have been a grandmother for the first time this year,” Bakhtawar wrote.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message on the anniversary, has expressed concerns over the “dangerous situation” faced by Pakistan.

He said “today the country is going through a dangerous situation, the economy, foreign affairs and law are all going through turmoil.”

He said it pains him to see that the poor are suffering and have been deprived of the fruits of democracy.

Asif Ali Zardari said that since 2013, there have been constant attacks on the authority, honour and dignity of the parliament, and PPP has been resisting them. The leadership of PPP saved and rebuilt the country after devastation in the past, and will do the same now, he said.
