Pervez Ilahi: PMLQ never discussed no-trust move with PM

Lahore (HRNW) Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PMLQ) leader Chaudhry Pervez Ilahi has revealed that his party did not discuss the opposition’s planned no-trust motion with Prime Minister Imran Khan when he visited them earlier this week.

The Punjab Assembly speaker said that the prime minister was not worried by the opposition’s plan to move a no-confidence motion against him. “We never discussed the no-confidence motion in the meeting with him,” said Ilahi.

Speaking to News Channel, Ilahi also said that something will emerge out of the opposition plans but only Fazlur Rehman could explain the context of his claim that the motion would be introduced within the next 48 hours.

“Now that such a big broth is being cooked, something must come out of it,” he said responding to a question about the possible outcome of the opposition’s move.

“Everything has gone into the broth. The results will become clear after it reaches the boiling point for the first time. We will tell you then,” he said.

Imran Khan visited Chaudhry Pervez Ilahi and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Tuesday in Lahore, and after the meeting some of the federal ministers claimed that PMLQ leaders had assured the PM of their continued support. PMLQ is a key coalition partner in the Imran Khan government.
