Sindh government decides to import medicines for Lumpy Skin epidemic

Karachi (HRNW) The Livestock Department has decided to import medicines for the Lumpy Skin Outbreak.

According to the information received, three foreign companies have agreed and all three companies have contacted the Drug Regulatory Authority. The medicines will be imported in the next few days after the registration of the companies.

Provincial Minister for Livestock Abdul Bari Potafi said that this epidemic has been around the world for 100 years. Lumpy skin disease has been reported for the first time in Pakistan.

He said that no lumpy skin was found in buffaloes, goats, sheep and camels. Humans do not get the disease, there is no danger.

On the other hand, Shakir Umar Gujjar, president of the Dairy and Cattle Association, said that the Sindh government should have arranged for medicines.
