PATTOKI: (HRNW) Punjab Police on Tuesday have arrested twelve people, including a marriage hall manager, in connection with the alleged killing of a papad vendor at the wedding.

In the initial postmortem report, the doctors did not confirm the torture on the body of the deceased, however, every aspect of the incident is being investigated, said the Police in a statement.

The Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) team has collected evidence from the incident, the statement added.

Yesterday, a video went viral on social media where it can be seen that a dead body of a man was placed on the floor of the wedding hall while the people were busy eating the food.

According to police, Ashraf Sultan, a papad vendor, was killed after being subjected to brutal torture by wedding guests in Pattoki.

The police further said that the wedding guest beat the daily wager because they mistook him for a pickpocket.

The Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police took notice of the heinous incident and requested a report from RPO Sheikhupura.

The Punjab police chief also vowed that those responsible for the heinous crime would face due punishment.
