Borussia Mönchengladbach renew contract of winger Herrmann

Borussia Mönchengladbach have renewed the contract of winger Patrick Herrmann by two years to 2024 by when he will have spent 16 years at the German club.

Herrmann, 31, came to Gladbach in 2008 as a junior and made his first team debut in 2010. He has now played 388 games and scored 55 goals.

“Patrick has amassed a lot of experience over his nearly 400 competitive appearances for the first team, and is a role model for all our academy players, having made the leap from the FohlenStall to the Bundesliga,” sporting director Roland Virkus said.

“For 14 years now, he has always given everything for the team and his club.”

Herrmann said: “I’m very happy to be able to spend two more years at the best club in the world. I feel very at home here and am incredibly proud to have played here for so long. Borussia will always be my club.”
