New CCTV footage of KU suicide bomber surfaces

Karachi (HRNW) A new CCTV footage has emerged of the female attacker who carried out a suicide bombing inside the University of Karachi last month, killing four people, including three Chinese nationals.

The footage was taken by a CCTV camera installed in a corridor of a hotel located at Shahra-e-Faisal in Karachi, where the bomber had gone to meet her husband.

The footage shows a woman, purportedly Shari Baloch, accompanied by two children, believed to be her young daughter and son.

A black backpack dangles by her right shoulder. The investigators say it was the same bag she used for carrying explosives to the university.

Reports said the suicide bomber arrived at the hotel to hand over her children to her husband ahead of the suicide attack.

Shortly after the bombing on April 26, Shaari Baloch’s husband Hibatan Baloch had tweeted a photo of the family — the parents and two children making victory signs — and praised Shaari for the bombing.
