Soaring dollar sets another record, crosses Rs190 mark

Karachi (HRNW) The US dollar reached its all-time high value against the Pakistan rupee Wednesday, soaring to Rs190.10 in the interbank market during intra-day trading. The greenback had jumped by Rs1.44 to breach the Rs190 mark.

It, however, settled at Rs190.02 as the trading session closed, surpassing Tuesday’s record low of Rs188.66 with an increase of Rs1.36.

Experts have been blaming the inconclusive talks with International Monetary Fund and “confused economic policies” by the government for the pressure on the sliding currency.

Meanwhile, in the open market, too, the local currency plunged to an all-time low of Rs192 after recording a decrease of Rs2.50.
