Imran Khan welcomes SC decision on dissident lawmakers

Kohat (HRNW) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan hailed the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s ruling on dissident lawmakers while addressing a public gathering in Kohat on Tuesday as the party gears up for Haqeeqi Azadi March (real freedom march) on Islamabad against the coalition government.

“Thankfully, the supreme court has rejected votes cast by the turncoats,” he said urging the top court to hear cases against the Sharif family on daily bases.

Earlier in the day, the apex court ruled in a 3-2 majority decision that the vote cast by the defecting members of the national and provincial assembly against the party line would not be counted in the final tally.

The PTI chief said Supreme Court has saved “Pakistan’s values from falling” in front of the world.

He said the government has been living under “great fear now” as they have fallen into a trap because “a tiger is behind them and the ocean is in front”.

“He [Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif] desperately wanted to become the prime minister as he never came into power before unlike Nawaz Sharif,” he said.

A stage was built at Kohat Sports Complex where several PTI leaders addressed the charged crowd.

Hours before the rally, rains with gusts uprooted some of the temporary structures at the ground, but at the same time improved weather conditions, allowing people a respite from intense heat.

PTI supporters arrived at the venue in rallies, headed by Shehryar Afridi and Zia Bangash, from Kacheri Chowk.
