Karachi (HRNW) Protests at the exhibition square in Karachi intensified in the evening as a result of which enraged people set fire to a police mobile while several policemen including SP were injured due to stone pelting.
Policemen opened fire, but the number of protesters increased further.
The riots continued at Khudadad Colony Chowrangi and Noorani Chowrangi. Policemen fled during the clash with the protesters.
PTI workers tried to gather at the exhibition square, police charged batons to disperse the workers while 3 policemen were injured when PTI workers pelted stones at them.
Police also fired in the air to disperse the workers at the exhibition square. DIG East arrived at Noorani signal to assess the situation.
Two police mobiles were also damaged by the pelting of stones by the protesters.
