Prof Dr Wajid appointed as University of Okara Vice Chancellor

Okara (HRNW) Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid, Professor of Zoology, has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Okara on additional charge basis for a period of six months on the orders of the Governor/Chancellor. Meanwhile, the first regular VC, Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar, has been relieved after being appointed the VC of the University of Poonch Rawalakot.
Sharing his vision about the future prospects of the university, Dr Wajid vowed to work for the academic excellence and infrastructural development on the lines of his predecessor.
“The University of Okara made remarkable progress in every aspect during last four years. Currently, we are providing quality education to more than 22,000 students in 60 academic disciplines. My administration will focus on improving teaching quality, ensuring meritocracy, introducing new industry-oriented disciplines and making the UO as all-inclusive university as envisioned in its act,” said the new VC.
