KARACHI (HRNW) Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Salim has said that the administration of Central District is active for public service even during the monsoon season during the unusual rains. While discussing the flow of water in the rain drains, he said that under the rain emergency, the Sanitation, Parks, Rescue and B&R department and other officers and staff are performing services.
He said that under the rain emergency, the municipality Central employees are serving 24 hours in different shifts. Taha Salim met the staff on rain water drainage in various places of Central district, especially Nagan Chowrangi, Water Pump, KDA Chowrangi, Liaquatabad and other areas. Appreciating their services, Municipal Commissioner Central Zahid Hussain, Director Sanitation Zaheer Ahmed and Xen Central Faisal Sagheer were also present on this occasion. Rainwater harvesting due to better drainage arrangements.
He further said that the integrated strategy and tireless work of the Central Municipality staff played an important role in providing complete relief to the residents of the Central District during the rainy season and reducing the extent of damage caused by the rains. He said that due to better and advance planning in the central district, the people are not facing much trouble and difficulties.
They have gone to monitor the situation of rainwater drainage and using manpower as well as available missionaries to collect the rainwater which mostly comes from hilly areas especially Paharganj carrying soil and garbage with it. Comes with high flow, it can be diverted towards storm drains. Due to the coordinated communication of the administration, municipal officers and workers, no major problem was reported from any place during the rains.
