KARACHI (HRNW) The Model Customs Collectorate foiled an attempt to smuggle electronic items worth Rs 1 crore at Karachi Airport.
At the Jinnah International Airport, two Pakistani passengers, Moeez Ali and Kashif Butt, who came from Sharjah, were seized with mobile phones and electronic items.
According to the customs spokesperson, mobile phones, mobile tablets, smart watches, smart wristbands and food items were recovered. Customs duty and taxes on smuggled mobile electronic items amount to Rs 52 lakh. The recovered goods were seized and the two passengers were arrested and booked under the Customs Act.
