Iqbal Hasmhi: A new addition to Urdu humorous literature

KARACHI: (HRNW) Greeting the launching of book “Tamasha” penned down by Engineer Iqbal Hasmhi, critics termed this book a welcome addition in humorous Urdu literature.

As per details, the launching ceremony of the book of Eng Iqbal Hasmhi titled Tamasha was held at the Karachi Press Club (KPC), attended by a large number of writers, critics and book lovers.
They said that Iqbal Hasmhi has exposed the evils and weaknesses of our society in a subtle way using the medium of humour very effectively. His writing style is crisp and witty. The choice of his words is artistic and shows his command on his subjects. They said this Tamasha or farce is that we have been witnessing in this country for last seventy years.

Those spoke included Prof Saleem Mughal, Khalilullah Farooqui, Muzaffar Aijaz, A H Khanzada, Usman Jamai and Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Altaf Shakoor.

Writer Iqbal Hasmhi also spoke on the occasion.
