Daily Mail’s apology to PM Shehbaz: Nawaz says Almighty Allah vindicated them

London  (HRNW)  Former prime minister, and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said that good intentions do not go in vain when he was asked to comment on Daily Mail’s apology to his brother and incumbent prime minister.

God has made us proud, he said while informally talking to journalists in London on Friday.

PML-N chief said that Daily Mail newspaper has tendered apology to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as good intentions do not go in vain.

British publication Daily Mail on Thursday publicly apologized to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for publishing an article by journalist David Rose that accused him of embezzling UK aid meant for earthquake victims.

In a notice published on its website, Daily Mail said that it had published a report on July 14, 2019.

In the report, Shehbaz had been accused of embezzling funds provided to Pakistan for earthquake relief.

The report was based on documents shared by Pakistan’s apex anti-graft watchdog National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
