Signing of MoU between Sindh Excise Deptt and NADRA for biometric verification of vehicle owners

Karachi (HRNW)  An MoU has been reached between the Department of Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Sindh and NADRA regarding biometric verification of vehicle owners.
The signing ceremony of the agreement was held at the office of Director General Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Sindh.
Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Sindh Atif Rehman and Director General Excise & Taxation Aurangzeb Panhwar and other officers were also present in the ceremony. The MoU was signed by Director Excise Admin Waheed Sheikh on behalf of Sindh Excise Department and Head of e-Government Salman Malik on behalf of NADRA.

The agreement is related to biometric verification of vehicle owners.
NADRA will start the process of verification of vehicle owners under NADRA e Sahulat program. In the first phase, this agreement has been made for three years.
Under this agreement, vehicles running on fake documents,
Vehicles running without transfer and open letter will be discouraged.

Regarding the signing of the MoU between the Department of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Sindh and NADRA, Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that this agreement is another step towards providing convenience to the people of Sindh. That in today’s modern era many problems have been solved through biometric authentication and this agreement will be very helpful in developing Sindh Excise Department on modern lines.
