Hafiz Naeem asks PPP, Sindh govt to accept JI’s majority in polls

KARACHI: (HRNW) Jamaat e Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman on Monday said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Sindh government should accept the majority of Jamaat-e-Islami in local government elections.

“Stop increasing your numbers artificially. Results should not be altered. The Returning Officers should declare the results as per Form XI,” he said.

Earlier, Hafiz Naeem said Monday that the party remained victorious on more than 100 seats making it clear that the political party would go for protests if it was deprived of its right.

“JI is moving towards a clean sweep,” he added.

He was addressing a presser when said that the nation came out for voting and the turn out remained at nearly 25% adding that uncertainty resulted in the low turnout.

Hafiz Naeem thanked the people of Karachi for believing in him and his party and said that the people voted for JI for the future of their children.

While slamming the delayed results, he said that the ROs were not providing the results and claimed that some maneuvering was taking place in Karachi.

Hafiz Naeem said that CM Sindh also assured him that he will tackle the situation. “18 hours have passed and no results are issued by the ROs.”

“I condemn this act and demand ECP, and CEC to take action against those trying to influence the results.”
