1202 students appear in KU evening entry test

KARACHI: (HRNW) As many as 1, 202 candidates appeared in the entry test for BS first year for BSCS and BSCE (Computer Science) and BS Applied Physics Evening Program 2023 at the University of Karachi on Sunday.

The KU has received 1, 668 online forms for the available 270 seats in the department of computer science and applied physics. A 100-minute long entry test was started at 11 am and 23 examination classrooms were established in the departments of political science and computer science.

According to the in-charge KU Directorate of Admissions Dr Saima Akhtar, 321 candidates, who appeared and cleared the morning program entry test but could not get the admissions, had also submitted their online admission forms for the evening program and added that as they had already cleared their entry test, they did not need to appear in today’s entry test and their marks (score) would be considered while preparing the final result of today’s entry test.

The KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, Registrar Prof Dr Abdul Waheed, Dean of Arts and Social Sciences Prof Dr Nusrat Idress, Director of Evening Program Prof Dr Nabeel Ahmed Zubairi, Prof Dr Anila Amber Malik, in-charge Directorate of Admissions Dr Saima Akhtar, Senior Medical Officer Dr Wafa Altaf, Controller of Examinations Dr Syed Zafar Hussain and others monitored the admission test proceedings.

Meanwhile, the KU Clinic staff and an ambulance were also present during the test proceeding. The varsity’s transport unit provided transport service to the candidates and their parents and waiting areas were also set up for parents and guardians nearby the examination centres.

Dr Saima Akhtar said that the list of successful candidates would be uploaded within 24 hours. She mentioned that the candidates could check their entry test marks (score) on the official web portal www.uokadmission.edu.pk on January 23, 2023.

Meanwhile, she mentioned that KU had received 4, 811 online admissions for the BS Evening Program while 1, 377 online admission forms were received for BS Third Year programs of the second shift.
