GDA lends support to MQM-P for picking up Sindh opposition leader

KARACHI (HRNW) – The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) on Tuesday decided to support the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in electing the Sindh opposition leader.

Addressing a press conference along with MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal, GDA leader Dr Safdar Abbasi said: “The negotiations between the MQM-P and GDA have been completed. The two parties [MQM-P and GDA] were working together on several occasions”.

He clarified that the GDA is going to vote for the MQM-P. “For this purpose, we will support MQM-P candidate Rana Ansar,” he added.

On this occasion, Mustafa Kamal said: “I wanted to thank the GDA for supporting the MQM-P in the appointment of the opposition leader”.

Taking a swipe at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Kamal asserted, “The PPP has made Sindh its fiefdom”.
