Baseball, a popular sport in Pakistan, is waiting for government attention

Kotri: (HRNW) Baseball, a popular sport in Pakistan, is waiting for government attention. National players were disappointed after PSB refused to provide funds for air tickets and accommodation expenses of Pakistan baseball team to NOC for forth coming Asian Games. However, keeping in mind the encouraging performance and efforts of Pakistan Federation Baseball President Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, the national players have now focused their eyes on the most important event, the World Cup Qualifying Round.

Despite standing in 6 teams, due to non-participation, Pakistan will come down in the ranking, which will allow other weak teams to come up and participate in the upcoming events and Pakistan will have a hard time to participate in the upcoming World Cup qualifying round as well which is a huge gap and a national loss.

Pakistan Federation Baseball President Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, who wants to see the Pakistan baseball team at its strongest, is currently on a visit to America under the promotion baseball project. In a conversation with media manager of the PFB and this content writer Pervez Ahmad Sheikh, he said that after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s announcement of providing funds to the federations, it is hoped that PSB will now provide funding and the crisis will end. If only previous governments had done this, then Pakistan would have been at a higher position in the world of sports.

With the personal efforts of Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, not only the Pakistan Women’s team participated in the Asian Championship in Hong Kong, but the Pakistan Boys Under 15 team is also going to China next month, whose PSB-approved camp continues from the beginning of this month and this trip costs are half of the Asian Games and personal resources are being used for it so that the youth team can get international experience and confident players can be available in the future. We are grateful to PSB for their support for the boys, women and men’s camps, but the federation is working hard to get the teams to participate in these important international events.

Since it is difficult to take all the players from Pakistan to America in the current situation, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah has added some players from Pakistan and organized a match between the teams consisting of Pakistani and Palestinian players based in America on August 5 in Chicago under the name of Lincoln Cup, which will be shown to the media there. The aim is only to get sponsors to participate in future events of Pakistan.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said in this regard that if the funding is not provided despite the announcement and assurance of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, we will try to participate in the World Cup qualifying round i.e. the 30th BFA Asian Baseball Championship in Taiwan with the help of sponsors after the loss of non-participation in the Asian Games. In this context, he has assured Baseball United to work in their partnership and requested cooperation so that they can help each other in various events.
