ISLAMABAD (hrnw) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has instructed the delimitation committees to complete their tasks by September 26, without exception, with the aim of publishing the preliminary constituencies on September 27.
In a statement released Monday, a spokesperson for the ECP said that the Commission conducted a review of the constituency committees’ progress in a meeting.
He said it was stressed that the committees must complete their tasks by September 26, without any further delays.
The ECP has taken steps to expedite the process for early general elections by adjusting the duration of constituencies.
According to the ECP, constituency announcements would now take place on November 30, with the intention of enabling early elections.
