KARACHI (HRNW) Jamat-e-Islami on Friday challenged the nomination papers of Karachi mayor Murtaza Wahab.
Muhammad Hussain who belongs to UC 3 of Maripur filed an application in which it was adopted that Mr Wahab was neither a voter nor a resident of Maripur.
Lawyer of the applicant Usman Farooq said that the approval of nomination papers and as per the Sindh government act 2013, it is necessary for the candidate to be registered in the relevant ward or council.
JI’s lawyer said he made the returning officer aware of his reservations while adding the election tribunal should declare the action of returning officer null and void and reject the nomination papers of Murtaza Wahab.
