Karachi  (HRNW)  An MoU will be signed between KMC and SFA for handing over the building for starting the work on the establishment of SFA Centralized Blood Testing Lab for food handlers. This lab will be established at the premises of KMC ‘ s non-functional centralized blood bank. This was discussed during a visit of Director General Sindh Food Authority Agha Fakhar Hussain to office of the Senior Director Medical and Health Services KMC.

DG SFA Agha Fakhar Hussain told that there were approximately one million food handlers working at Karachi only in different food businesses and it was mandatory for them to have blood tested annually for different diseases and
the proposed lab would provide a subsidised fees structured blood testing facility for the food handlers of Sindh province.

He expressed his hope that this data is also required to federal government which is also working on the program of centralised data collected from all the provinces regarding food handlers. This will be beneficial for the food handlers to get job in entire country . On this occasion Director Finance SFA Masood Bhutto and were also present. Meanwhile DG SFA Agha Fakhar Hussain along with officers of KMC also visited the building of Director Health KMC situated at People’s Chorangi and it was decided that the building required for said lab would be handed over to SFA soon after dispose off irrelevant materials from there.
