6 magnitude quake jolts parts of country

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/PESHAWAR (HRNW) – A 6 magnitude earthquake on Richter scale jolted various parts of the country including Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore and northern areas.

The tremors were also felt in Kashmir and adjacent areas. The epicentre of the earthquake was Hindukush Mountain Range in Afghanistan. The depth of the quake was measured as 213 kilometer.

A wave of panic spread among the people and they came out of their houses reciting verses of the Holy Quran.
No loss of life or property was reported till filing of this report.

The tremors were felt in Chiniot, Faisalabad, Short Kot, Burewala, Vehari, Jhang, Mian Channu, Hangu, Orakzai, Charsadda, Swabi, Kundian, Khyber, Buner, Jamrud, Tank, Bajaur, Mardan, Peshawar, Dir upper, Chitral Malakand, Abbottabad, Peshawar.

The tremors were also felt in Indian capital New Delhi and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s (IIOJK) Ponch district.
