JUI-F to continue struggle for protection of Islamic values in society, says Fazl

PESHAWAR (HRNW) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has stated that his party will continue to work to make Pakistan an Islamic state after winning the Feb 8 general elections.

Addressing a party election rally in Tank on Friday, Fazl expressed his determination to continue struggle for the protection of Islamic values in society. “If voted to power, we will make Pakistan a welfare state where rights of every citizen will be protected.”

Fazl emphasised the right of political parties to present their ideologies to the nation, stating that each political entity possessed its own ideology.

He asserted that the JUI-F had an enduring commitment to politics of tolerance and perseverance.

The JUI-F chief said the preservation of human rights was imperative in a prosperous state, adding that a flourishing nation was unattainable without a robust economy and peace.

Fazl questioned the state of peace and livelihood in Pakistan. He also questioned the rationale behind the warnings to the JUI-F against running election campaign due to security threats.

Fazl demanded that those who had damaged the country’s economy be held accountable for their actions.
