New Delhi (HRNW) A Spanish woman who was doing a world tour on a motorcycle in India was gang-raped by 8 people in front of her husband.
A 28-year-old Spanish woman tourist was gang-raped late on Friday night while she was sleeping with her husband in a tent in a quiet area outside the city.
Both were on a motorcycle trip to India and had camped for the night. After some time, when the woman came out of the tent, six or seven people caught her and took her to a distance, raped her and escaped.
According to Indian media, the incident took place on Friday night in the Dumka district of the Indian state of Jharkhand, where the couple had stopped to spend the night in a tent. 8 accused gang-raped the woman and beat up her husband, later fled with their belongings and money.
Police told The Times of India that the victim along with her husband managed to reach the patrolling police van around 11 pm and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police say that the victim woman and her husband had set up a camp in a forest area near Karmahat, immediate action was taken as soon as the incident was reported.
According to the police, they have detained three people on the charge of gang-rape and are looking for more suspects who will be arrested soon.
