SINDH POLICE BOARD MEETING

The ‘Sindh Police Management Board’ met here under the chairmanship of IGP Sindh A. D. Khowaja here at CPO. The board meeting was attended by Additional IGs of Traffic, Crimes, Karachi, CTD, Special Branch; DIsG of T&T, Finance, Establishment, HQtrs; AIsG of Security, Establishment, Operations, Finance, Welfare, Logistics, Administration and other senior officers.

A threadbare discussion was held over the various administrative, financial and operational matters, during the marathon session. It was decided to establish an independent ‘Sindh Police Recruitment Board’ for future recruitments in the department under a uniform recruitment policy ensuring good Governance, transparency and merit. AIG Establishment, Naeem Ahmad Shaikh during his presentation informed that the permanent composition of the proposed SPRB include Additional IG Training as the chairman of the SPRB and the DIsG of Establishment & Finance, AIG Establishment and a representative of CPLC as it’s members. “SPRB will act as the policy making and supervisory body under which the ‘Selection Committee(s)’ will ensure the recruitment process”, he added.
IGP directed AIG Establishment to furnish a final working paper with regard to formulation of a comprehensive recruitment policy/ Establishment of SPRB within 15 days so that the same may be sent to Provincial Government for necessary approval/issuance of notification. AIG Establishment further elaborated the recruitment in police department under shaheed/son quota according to the existing laws/rules with special reference to the proposed recruitment policy.

Sindh Police Management Board also discussed and reviewed the progress into review process with regard to vetting/issuance of different important Standing Orders. IGP directed the very committee under DIG HQ to expedite the process as soon as possible and get the selected/identified standing orders notified formally from the Provincial Home Department.
