President urges IPC to resolve water, food crisis in Pakistan

Karachi  (HRNW)- President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for reinforcement of inter-provincial coordination (IPC) to mitigate the crisis of water and food insecurity in Pakistan.

He made these remarks while addressing 4th International Water Conference in Karachi on Tuesday.

The President advocated for provincial consensus on implementation of water policy to meet growing demands of food, water and energy in the country.

Showing concerns on implications of global warming, the President said a network of partnerships involving private sector, government, civil society, media and people of Pakistan is need of the hour.

The President advised the organizers of the conference to invite the agriculture and water Ministers of four provinces including Federal Ministers in the next conference to give government ownership to this agenda.
