Mufti Muneeb announces official fitrana, fidya rates for 2020

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – The minimum amount of Fitrana and Roza Fidya for the current year has been fixed at Rs125 per person, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Monday.

According to the chairman of the committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, the breadwinner of a family is to pay at least Rs125, on behalf of each of his dependents, according to the price of wheat. Muslims who wish to pay in accordance with the price of barley, dates, raisins and cheese have to pay Rs.320, Rs.1600, Rs.1920 and Rs.3540 per head respectively.

If anyone had been unable to keep fast for the whole month of Ramadan, he or she should pay ‘fidya’ as compensation worth Rs3,750 in proportionate to flour price, Rs9,600 for barley, Rs48,000 for date, Rs 57,600 for raisin and Rs106,200 for cheese.

Mufti Muneeb urged Muslims, who possesses food in excess of their needs, must pay ‘Sadqa-e-Fitr’ before the Eid prayers.
