Karachi loadshedding: MQM-Pakistan MNAs walk out of Parliament

Karachi (HRNW)  MNAs of MQM-Pakistan walked out of the National Assembly over frequent load shedding in Karachi and Hyderabad.

After this, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser instructed a standing committee to look into the power outages.

“People are protesting on the roads because there is no electricity in different parts of Karachi and Hyderabad,” said MQM-Pakistan MNA Usama Qadri. “Where is the government and what is it doing?”

He remarked that Federal Minister Omar Ayub keeps saying that he doesn’t have the power to resolve the issue. “If you don’t have the power, then who does?”

MQM-Pakistan has been speaking against K-Electric’s behaviour. They have been overbilling rather than providing any relief to the people, they claim. “What’s the purpose of this government if it can’t even provide relief to the people? This is why we are walking out of this session.”
