Alhamra Children Festival

Lahore (HRNW)- An important meeting regarding Children’s Festival was held in the committee room of Lahore Arts Council here on Thursday at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall. The meeting was chaired by Director Arts and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi. The meeting was attended by Ajoka Theater, Azad Theater, Artist Theater, JS Theater, and other writers, producers and directors who are working for the children training and entertainment. All participants gave their valuable suggestions on making the festival a success.
During the meeting, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said that Al-Hamra is going to organize a three-day-long Children’s Theatre Festival with the aim of their training in a positive manner. Zulfi said that, the festival is scheduled to take place in the first week of December. For the festival Alhamra called all the organizations that are working for the children, and till LAC got 17 scripts from which LAC would select ten best plays. Food and drinks, books, face painting, children’s swings, handicraft and other stalls would also be set up to provide entertainment to the children during the festival, he added.
Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Saman Rai said that Council has always organized various programs for children emphasizing on training through entertainment. She said that Al-Hamra believes that our children are our future, and to improve this tomorrow, Al-Hamra organizes training classes and workshops for their betterment. The Children’s Festival is a link in the same chain. “We are organizing this festival for children because the strategy of highlighting children’s creative talents will play an important role in their better performance,” she said. The festival is a competition as well in which the winner is awarded fifty, the second place position got thirty and the third one got twenty thousand prizes besides providing opportunities to work on Al-Hamra platform in future also, she added.
