Universities must align youth with Iqbal’s vision: Dr Zakar

Okara (HRNW)- The universities must work to align the youth with the vision of Allama Iqbal who preached self-actualization, leadership and progressiveness through his poetry, said the Vice Chancellor University of Okara, Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar, in his special message on Iqbal Day.
He told that Iqbal was a poet of optimism and motivation and his vision of prosperous future for Muslim Ummah required the youth to take the leading role. “Without the active engagement of youth at all tiers of life, the nation cannot progress and this engagement cannot be materialized without quality higher education”.
Dr Zakar argued that the Pakistani academia must mentor the youth as per the themes and lessons of Iqbal’s poetry. “Our young population is more than 60 percent and with this potential in hand, we can not only solve all of our social and economic problems but can also play a lead role in the region”, said the VC.
