Islamabad (HRNW)- Fine amounting to Rs. 200000/- (2 Lac) has been imposed on Channel 92 on account of reporting of wrong facts against NHMP and for projection of wrong image thereof .
This Channel had telecast a video clip in last week of September 2020 against working of M5 ,NHMP which was based on wrong & exaggerated facts and had showed that travel on M-5 (Multan – Sukkur Motorway) is unsafe due to ineffective performance of NHMP.
In fact, there had raised an issue between NHMP staff and some workers of Channel 92 on 26-09-2020 in area of Rohri upon the matter of installation of illegal signboards along side M5.
So Channel 92 telecast this clip in this grudge without taking the stance of NHMP.
A complaint was got registered to PEMRA against Channel 92 by NHMP against this wrong reporting upon which PEMRA has imposed the fine of Rs. 200000 (2 Lac) after hearing stance of both parties (finding NHMP’s stance right and that channel 92 violated the code of conduct ).
