Sindh Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act 2018 safeguards the rights of the differently abled people: Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar

Karachi (HRNW)- Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Sindh Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar has said that Sindh Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act 2018 has safeguarded the rights of the differently abled people and Sindh government is fully committed to implement this Act in letter and spirit. This he said while speaking as a key speaker in a seminar, organized by Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh in collaboration with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Pakistan organized a pre recording panel discussion for International Human Rights Day 2020 under the slogan of Sindh Stands for Human Rights and Inclusive Recovery, here at a local hotel.

Iqbal Detho was the moderator of the session. Ms. Anis Haroon, Former Provincial Member, Sindh of NCHR Pakistan, Ms. Shahla Raza, Minister for Women Development Department Sindh, Veerji Kolhi, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights Department and Ihsan Ali Khoso, Chairman PHRO Sindh also participated in the discussion.

Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar added, ‘ It is a good sign that all stakeholders are united to provide relief and due rights to differently abled persons ‘. He said that legislation had been made to protect the rights of differently abled people, however there was a need to implement it into letter and spirit and for the purpose we needed the support of the all stakeholders.
