Report: Deutsche Bank to drop business with Trump after Capitol siege

Deutsche Bank has decided to stop doing business with Donald Trump and his companies after supporters of the outgoing US president stormed the Capitol, the New York Times reported.

A spokesman for the bank refused to comment on the report on Tuesday. The company generally refrains from commenting on its dealings with individual clients.

Trump has been a major client of Deutsche Bank, Germany’s biggest lender, which loaned him significant amounts prior to his presidency allowing his to purchase real estate. In total, Trump is to pay back 340 million dollars in the coming years.

The Democratic opposition in the United States has repeatedly attempted to shed more light on Trump’s business relations with Deutsche Bank.

On January 6, Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in Washington, temporarily halting a sitting of Congress held to certify the electoral victory of Democrat president-elect Joe Biden.

Trump claims without any evidence that the November 2020 election was rigged.

Democrats in the House of Representatives introduced an article of impeachment against Trump on Monday, accusing him of stoking last week’s violence against the US government.
