Berlin’s Tegel Airport inventory to be auctioned off

Almost three months after the closure of Berlin’s Tegel airport, inventory from the terminal is now being auctioned off.

Numerous monitors and benches have been open for bids on the internet since Thursday, according to the auction house Dechow, which is hoping for bids from aviation nostalgics, even though some of the tubular steel benches with perforated or plastic supports are in need of restoration.

Also on offer are luggage belts, gates, snow removal vehicles and a bus wash. Viewings are not possible.

The auctions end on February 11 and 12.

Tegel was closed at the beginning of November in favour of the new capital city airport BER.

The auction house had already offered numerous items ranging from trolleys to flight attendant uniforms after the bankruptcy of the airline Air Berlin.
