Germany’s share of Polish exports rises to nearly 29 per cent in 2020

Warsaw (dpa) – Germany’s share of Polish exports increased to 28.9 per cent in 2020 from 27.7 per cent a year before, Poland’s statistics office GUS reported on Monday.

The value of Polish exports to its main trading partner amounted to 68.6 billion euros (78 billion dollars) in 2020, which represents an annual increase of 3.9 per cent in euro terms.

Polish imports from Germany amounted to 49.3 billion euros in 2020, a 5-per-cent decline in annual terms. Similarly to 2019, Germany accounted for over a fifth of all Polish imports last year.

Poland remained a net exporter in 2020, with a positive trade balance of 12 billion euros. Polish exports declined in euro terms by 0.3 per cent year-on-year to 237.5 billion euros, while imports fell by 4.8 per cent to 225.5 billion euros.
